This Culturally Responsive Teaching session will apply several interactive strategies that create a classroom community that cultivates relationships, shared values, beliefs and attitudes about learning. The foundation of a successful classroom is one that intentionally builds positive relationships.  Teachers and students must learn about each other’s experiences and backgrounds in order to build a trusting and collaborative environment. Participants will understand the journey and experience of cultural competence and its impact in the classroom.
