This 36-hour professional development is for participants to understand and apply the research-based best practices of effective reading instruction. The content is based on the Essential Practices in Early and Elementary Literacy and the five literacy components. This DTRA course now involves blended learning opportunities. There will be online learning and homework. There are 4 all day in-person sessions and 6 online sessions in all.
YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL OF THE SESSIONS, INCLUDING THE ONLINE COMPONENTS TO RECEIVE SCECHS AND STIPENDS FOR THIS COURSE.
The dates are:
January 17 – ASC, Room 8
February 9 (SATURDAY) – ASC, Board Room
March 2 (SATURDAY) – ASC, Board Room
March 21 – ASC, Board Room
All in-person days will run 8:30-3:30.
You will receive a stipend for February 9 and March 2, as well as for completing the online sessions.
You will need to request a sub in AESOP and permission from your administrator for January 17 and March 21 (if applicable).
